Do you belong to a Block Club?

I ask because it seems to be the only way you can get Political power these days for your community and area. Tell me what do you do in yours? We are trying to get law and order in our community. Help from Police to help get our neighborhood cleared of drugs and crime! We also are trying to get sidewalks put in, the neighbors help in repairing and fixing up older homes and helping the elderly and gain some grants for new Playground equipment for the kids. Tell me what you have accomplished and where you have been successful.

  • This is a good link to help you get started:

    http://www.ncpc.org/topics/home-and-neighborhood-safety/strategies/strategy-starting-neighborhood-watch-groups

Once mobilized you can request "Neighborhood Watch" signage to post from here:

The biggest obstacle you'll face is people only tend to be "fired up" after a crime has been committed and soon after lose interest. If you're going to be successful you need to appoint several people who are good at following up and following through on intitatives, and will continue to recruit neighbors to take a more active role.

    Good Luck!  :o)
