Does this sound good?

Trying this recipe today:

Italian Egg Rolls

1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
2 tsp oil
1 lb Italian sausage, hot
2 (10 oz) packages frozen spinach, thawed & drained
1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 tsp garlic powder
14 oz package egg roll wraps
oil, plain regular olive oil is good make sure it's not evoo because it would make everything bitter (for frying)
pizza sauce, warmed

In a skillet over medium heat, saute onion & green pepper in oil. Remove to a medium bowl & set aside. Brown sausage in skillet; drain & combine with onion mixture. Add spinach, cheeses, & garlic powder; mix well. Top each egg roll wrapper with 3 T. of mixture; roll up, following directions on egg roll package. Heat 3 to 4 inches oil in a deep fryer. Add egg rolls a few at a time, frying until golden. Drain on paper towels

  • It's like lasagna in a roll! ROFLMAO.... Use regular oil and not olive can't handle that kind of heat you need to fry with and will smoke badly. I would use canonla oil so it won't transfer any flavor. Sound great....

  • Not really - but I don't like sausage!

Answer by 4time-mom at 2:34 PM on Aug. 21, 2010

  • 4-time-mom... maybe substitute sausage with ground beef or just omit the meat??? I made them and my 17 year old and 3 of his friends are inhaling them as I type this. They are a huge hit (I even put the spinach in... well one box.. even though my son hates it and he still loves these little buggers)!
