Boys & Dolls?

Did your little boys have baby dolls? Would you give your nephew a baby doll? What would you think if your sister gave your son a baby doll?

  • I think that boys need dolls just as much as girls need trucks and dinosaurs. I gave my DS baby dolls (though not as many as I gave my DD), and he played with them, though not always in the same way as she did. But if we are going to expect our boys to grow up to be good fathers, we should give them dolls to play with, and we should teach them how to, just as we would teach our girls. Then we should step back and let them play.

  • I guess it would depend on the type of doll.. I wouldn't purposely buy a boy a doll, but when my nephew is over and him and my daughter play together I dont stop him from playing with her dolls, he's only 2.

  • I dunno do you think it's wrong for a girl to play with boy stuff? If it's okay for girls to play with boy stuff than why isn't okay for boys to play with girl stuff? Send him the doll.

  • My 21 month old son has a boy doll that was my brother's when he was little. It's a 9 month size doll - he looks so cute carrying it around! And he plays with the doll very much like his Dad plays with him. I can see him playing the same games with "Rusty" - it's very sweet!

  • Yeah, what kind of doll? My son has 2 cabbage patch boy dolls. Avery and Justice. He doesn't play with them so much any much anymore but he used to.

  • *shrug* Baby doll? My sister KNOWS both DH and I find baby dolls creepy, and she sent DD an all plastic bath time baby doll. I don't really think boys should be excluded from doll play, so I was thinking I'd send her son one.

  • I really wouldn't care if my son had dolls that he liked and played with. I let my daughter play with trucks and dinosaurs, and if my son-to-be wants to play with dolls, he'll be able to.

  • I wouldn't buy a boy a doll unless he was going to have a baby sibling, but there is nothing wrong with playing with them.
