Has anyone heard of snopes.com before?

They have a really good section on dispelling rumors especially the ones about Barack Obama and his quotes from his book....please check it out for yourself...what do you think....is it still a rumor or is there some truth to it?

  • What makes you believe that snopes.com is a credible website? The only person that can confirm or deny rumors about themself is the person that the rumors are about.

  • Snopes is a pretty good site for squashing any and all email rumors. As with anything that covers politics though, check multiple sites. Always remember that a PERSON writes what you see online. And everything that anyone writes, no matter how fair they try to be or claim to be, can be tainted by their own opinions.

If you get any of those stupid emails telling you to quickly send money to south africa and you'll get 10 times that much back or telling you that glade plug-ins cause fires or that your wish will come true if you forward the email to 10 friends - you'll find them all discredited here.

  • I like snopes, but mostly for e-mail rumors and silly stuff. I go to factcheck for all of the political stuff.
