  • Water helped me. I tried milk and it seemed to make it worse.

  • I am 28 weeks and it can be unbearable. I would say avoid eating or drinking anything with acid.

    Try drinking Milk and Water.

    Good Luck Mama.

I got the generic Zantac which is what my Dr. told me to get and it really helps.

  • Do you have any Papaya? Fresh papaya helps a bit but if you can find Papaya capsules they work quite well for HB

  • The only thing that worked for me was Prilosec. I suffered thru 3.5 pregnancies (started around 6mo wth my 4th) and it was a godsend! Milk made it worse, and I couldnt eat anything without getting it bad!

  • Milk is commonly recommended, but I find that if you have a lot of excess acid, the milk is just curdled by the acid and in turn makes you nauseous in addition to the heartburn. Personally, I have heartburn so bad that often even JUST drinking water gives me heartburn.  Without an antacid or other medication, I can only suggest things to help prevent it. Don't eat citrus, or drink citrus juices, no tomatoes, no sauce, no caffeine, no chocolate are a few off the top of my head. Remain upright for at least 30 min after eating.
