How do you deal with the SO that doesn't totally support your business?

My SO keeps saying that my businesses are basically a waste of time. He says he hasn't seen them pay a bill yet. But he clueless to how often we go to rent movies a month or how often we eat out.

  • Give him a copy of your business's financial statement for the first six months of this year. Circle your gross and net income numbers for him.

  • The males as a >>species<<< like to be keeping score.......it's all it's about. How much they paid, how much they owe, who is the one this week, month, year who owes them most on their list.
Probably nothing personal, you're just IT right now on his LIST OF SCORES! !! ha!

  • My husband supports and help me with my business. If you feel like you need to prove yourself to him....keep track of hom much you bring in and what it gets spent on, then show him.

  • My husband was not supportive at first about my business either, until he met members of my team, and saw how much I love this business, and how much effort I put into it!

  • Sorry your husband ins't very supportive. Mine is part owner of our business and I couldn't imagine doing it without his support. It takes a good year or two for a new business to become profitable. Maybe he was under the impression that you would be making a ton of money right away.

  • I would keep a copy of where all my money is spent. When that conversation came up again, I would show him. Wouldn't hurt to keep a copy of where his money went also so there would be no argument there.
