What do you think of this idea for the crockpot?

I have a ribeye steak to use up and no grill to use. I don't want to fry it so I thought of cutting it up and putting it in the crockpot with some cream of mushroom soup and then when it is done cooking serve it over egg noodles.

  • what can it turn to try?? Some of the best tasting things have come from people just throwing stuff together..... ((mind you some of the worst to, but as my hubby says, we dont like to talk about those dark days. lol.)

  • It would work but I wouldn't use a cut of beef that expensive (and that tasty) in the crockpot. It nearly pains me to say that - I rely on my crockpot a lot. I would freeze it and use it later if you're not wanting to pan fry right now, or you can broil it in the oven.

  • Sounds good... I would add some powdered French onion soup to the mix though... I do that with meatballs. Crm. Much. Soup onion soup on meatballs over egg noodles. yummy.

  • Im a member of the crock pot group here in cm and went looking for rib eye receipes for the crock. I dont see any, but that doesnt mean they dont exsist. Certain types of meat hold up better in a slow cooker then others. I would call the butcher at your grocery store and ask him what he thinks. I have done that before regarding temps and stuff,,,good luck!
