  • I plant fall crops, usually just a repeat of the spring crops like peas, lettuce, onions, etc. It's too cold here (north central Missouri) for winter gardening; however I do winter sowing which is starting plants in covered plastic containers outside during the winter. Last winter was my first try and I did brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, hollyhocks. I plan to do a lot more this winter.

  • I have never tried it, but you can get these little "box's" for winter crops, so they can still be outside. Also, you could do it inside in your basement or a cool area. Carrots and Peas will grow in that weather, just make sure what you are trying to grow is a cool weather crop. Raspberries won't grow, but onions will.
