  • You could make a really nice hamburger stew. =)

    2 lbs Hamburger
    1/4 cup all-purpose flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 bay leaf
    1 teaspoon paprika
    1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
    1 onion, chopped
    1 1/2 cups beef broth
    3 potatoes, diced
    4 carrots, sliced
    1 stalk celery, chopped

Place meat in slow cooker. In a small bowl mix together the flour, salt, and pepper; pour over meat, and stir to coat meat with flour mixture. Stir in the garlic, bay leaf, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, onion, beef broth, potatoes, carrots, and celery.

Cover, and cook on Low setting for 10 to 12 hours, or on High setting for 4 to 6 hours.

  • Ilb ground beef [cooked] -- [you can also use beef for stew, if you don't want to cook the ground beef up]
    1 can corn
    1 can black beans
1 can rotel [your choice on spicy or not]
    1 package powered ranch dressing
    1 package taco seasoning.

throw it all in there together and let it cook on low for about four hours.

  • I make one simliar to babykins, but I do 2 lbs ground beef, cooked through with one chopped onion. Then dump in 2 pkg of ranch, 2 pkg of taco, a can each of corn, hominy, green chiles, black beans, pinto beans, kidney beans, lima beans, and stewed tomatoes. Delicious with chips, sour cream, and shredded cheddar cheese. Freezes really well too. You don't drain any of the canned ingredients, just chuck them all in.

  • Really easy, my kids love this. 2 lbs ground beef, browned with onion & drained (I usually chop up 2 whole onions, more or less works & so do dried). Mix in cp with 2 lbs frozen mixed veggies (more or less works), a 46oz can vegetable or tomato juice (I use low sodium), some low sodium beef boullion, black pepper, parsley, and any other herbs/seasonings you like. Cook a few hours (I usually make it around 1, cook on high til 6 & eat immediately, never done it on low). You can either add barley near the end, brown rice, or cook pasta to stir in right before serving.
