How do you clean tile board?

As a backsplash in my kitchen we have white tile board. It is kind of like paneling but it gives the 'tile' look. It has a finish similar to a white dry erase board. When ever I try to clean it it just seems to get worse. It spatters go away but a gray film seems to cover the whole thing. I generally use plain vinegar to clean, that didn't help. PineSol doesn't do it either. What would you clean it with?
