Wall hanging for girls room. Need some ideas.

My second child, first girl, Gianna is due September 18 and I wanted to make her something. I orginally wanted to hang stained glass buttterflies from a curtain rod, but the only ones I can find (eBay) are more expensive than I had anticipated. Also I may hang it over the crib so it just seemed a bit dangerous.

I need something hopefully under about $30, but ALL ideas will be very much appreciated. Thank you

these are really cute. they're paper birds and i think the colors are really pretty and bright like babies like. they're 7 bucks each and i'm sure you could just use some tape or a thumbtack to secure them to the cieling over the crib (make sure that they're not too close though lol) gl and i'm sure whatever you do will look beautiful. my first girl (took me 3 tries lmao) will be 1yo on sept. 17th and i had such fun decorating her nursery!

  • You could make a scrapbook page of your family and frame it and put it on the wall

  • There is a kind of quilt style called 'stained glass' --which you may find a major commercial supplier at about that price point... Otherwise look for quilts and textile hangings at garage sales or flea markets. Original textile art is extremely expensive, but unless it's antique doesn't hold its value well and can be often purchased less expensively than it can be made.

  • In my baby girls room, I went out and found 3 different sized mirrors and found a beautiful crystal garland that I outlined the mirrors with to hang up on her wall.

  • Not sure if there is a Target near where you live but we found Butterfy wall stickers that we decorated my DD's room with! They are easy to put on and take off :) And really really cute!

  • There is something called shrink art and you can buy packages of 8.5 x 11 sheets at JoAnns. You trace a picture, color with colored pencil or marker, punch a hole for a string, and bake and it shrinks and the color intensifies. You could find butterfly pictures online. If you go to google and type in coloring page butterfly and search images your should find some good ones. There are also stained glass craft websites that have free patterns. I looked on JoAnns website and I didn't see just the plastic, only kits. I know you can get the plastic there and get it with the 40% off coupons. I've made lots of different things with shrint art.

  • I went to JoAnn's and bought the white wooden letters for my daughter's name. Then I cut out and glued different colored scrapbook papers with butterflies on the front of each letter and sealed them. I bought some tiny hooks to put in the top so I could hand them on ribbons. It turned out really cute. The entire project cost me $15-$20. And it was quick and easy.

  • You should be able to buy paper butterflies from garden stores and may be on clearance since fall is soon. Hang with dental floss to give the floating appearance.
Painted wooden letters of her name, each hanging by a colored ribbon found at Micheals.
Do you know the fancy baby hangers found on expensive baby clothes, the ones covered in satin? You could use that to hang whatever you like on it.
