  • My baby girl's heartrate did this too, and they were doing extra ultrasounds to make sure the heart looked good, so naturally I figured the two were linked lol. But my husband looked it up and found that as the baby matures in the womb it is very normal for her heartrate to lower. And all was well with the heart and the doctor kept saying that it was a good heartrate, so I think it is very normal.

  • Yes, are they mature, their heart rates will go down and the numbers you stated are within reason. If they drop below 120 and stay that way, it might be cause for concern.

  • Heartrate goes down as baby gets older, including in utero. Consider that a fetus's heartrate can be as high as 160, but a healthy adult's is usually 60-80. :)

  • My son's heart rate is usually 160bpm but one week (18 week appt I think) was 138bpm because he was sleeping when she listened to him. I know this because I could feel him laying right by my belly button and then after about 2 seconds of having the cool gel on me he was darting around like a madman. lol

Also you will see a decrease as you get farther along because the baby gets bigger, but your uterus can only stretch so much. So with the limited space the baby is less active and just like an adult the baby's heart rate is slower at rest then during high levels of activity. :o)

  • It always various. As long as the doctor isn't concern you shouldn't have to worry.

  • Yep. It's when it drops below 100 you need to be concerned.

  • Yes it's supposed too, their heartbeats faster than ours and as they get bigger it goes down.
