this may sound silly but...

Do tampons break the hymen? I was just wondering. I used them for many years before sex and had very little bleeding. Course, I was also in shape, active, and 23.

  • No. They don't. I never bled when I had sex for first time and used tampons from the first time I had a period.

  • No, your hymen should not be completely attached, that's how your period comes out in the first place if you haven't had sex. A tampon is slim enough to fit there.

  • I didn't bleed the first time I had sex either. Nor did it hurt.
