Bacon in Mac n cheese or no?

I make home-made mac n cheese in the cast iron skillet and it is fabulous.... except it's a little too greasy. Should I get rid of the bacon or just cook it drispy instead of soft?

  • Maybe cook it crispy and make sure to let it sit on a paper towel to drain and get some of the grease off, then add it to the Mac & cheese. Although bacon Mac & cheese does sound very yummy......

  • I say make the mac regular, make the bacon separate and blot the grease off, then crumble and add to the mac.

  • april foolsOh,ok. Brain fart. I read it as the mac and cheese alone was greasy and should you add bacon even though the mac and cheese was greasy!!

  • I'm not a fan of bacon, I have put ham, hotdogs, and polish sausage in mac & cheese. If you like bacon, it'd probably work out.

  • Mac and cheese is going to be super greasy to start with. I add ham to mine and that would probably add less grease than bacon.
