  • You bring a stroller, water or juice, lots of patience and diapers if not toilet trained.

  • Water and juice (one juice box is fine water for the rest of the day) pack a lunch and snacks (assuming they allow outside food - the San Diego Zoo here does) Pull ups or diapers if not trained, extra clothes in case of an accident, baby wipes for sticky hands etc.

I've been taking my 3 year old twins to the zoo a lot and I think thats about all we take. Patience is key and to move at his pace or you will be fighting all day to keep him moving, let him look and enjoy something then move on. Oh and FYI my experience has been a lot of adults visiting the Zoo are not considerate of the children, they will step right in front of him so they can see or place their own kids in the way. Be prepared and always keep an eye on him if you aren't using a stroller.

  • Don't forget the camera. :) And cash..our zoo has a little carousel the kids can ride, but you can only buy the tickets with cash (which is something we never carry hehe)

  • We took Victoria when she was just a little bit over 3 years old. She will be 4 in January. We took stuff for sandwiches, bananas (since these are her favorite fruit), several cameras (one for her to snap pictures with). we took a few changes of clothes for all of us. If she had not been potty trained, we would have taken either diapers or her pullups. Sunscreen is a MUST. Also a hat, in case it is hot outside. The hat will help keep the heat off his head. Money for souiveniers is very important.
