for those that sew-

making a dress out of velvet, and found that the seams tend to be weak.
looking to re-enforce with Bias tape,
anyone have any suggestions for this?

  • hm, check your tension and the kind of thread you're using. I made a trench coat out of velvet and had absolutely no issues with the seams.

    oh man, I miss that coat! it was before my last 2 babies LOL

  • I'm not sure what kind of suggestions you're looking for, bias tape would probably work, or serge the seams to give them extra strength. You could also try using a twin needle for extra strength, or doing a flat fell seam.
