maquest or gps??

I'm going on a 4 hour drive in some unfamiliar territorry with me and my son this weekend. It will be dark but I will have directions from mapquest AND a gps, but my question is- which do you follow when mapquest tells you to go one way and the gps tell you another route? Which do you follow?

  • GPS, I never trust mapquest. Just be sure to use common sense though when using a GPS.

  • GPS all the way. Mapquest has taken me to closed down roads and wrong turns.

  • GPS, as long as the maps have been updated recently. We traveled a few months ago and our maps had not recently been updated and we were driving in a relatively new area. The GPS took us off of the highway, onto a one lane dirt road. We were less than thrilled. So, learn from our misfortunes! If you choose the GPS, make sure you have had your maps updated! :)

  • Mapquest is wrong a lot of times. It doesn't know if a new road has been built or if a road is closed for construction. It also doesn't know if a street is a one way street or not.
