stir ins for brown rice?

I use chicken stock instead of water but looking for some other seasoning ideas to jazz it up a bit.

  • Sliced almonds and dried cranberries! You can soak the cranberries in cranberry juice or raspberry vinaigrette to soften them a little first if you'd like.

  • Oh...and cook rice with a little bit of sauteed onion along with chicken stock.. Add the almonds and cranberries to finish.

  • green onions, chopped tomatoes, nuts and bacon and water or broth. Vegetable, beef or chicken broth always enhances the rice if you have any handy.

  • I like to make it in my crock pot with milk (preferrably whole, more than called for), raisins, cinnamon, some butter, and a little brown sugar.

    Something my kids really like, but isn't terribly healthy - mix equal amounts of cream of whatever soup (I use celery), milk, and rice. Cook the soup & milk til just starting to boil (stir very often) and stir in rice - turn heat off, cover pan, and let sit 15 minutes. Stir & serve.

  • You can substitute fruit juices instead of water to make, Orange, cranberry, lemon, lime or cranberry rice.

  • Try some hot sauce, hot pepper sauce some salsa too! That can do it! I also love paprika, white pepper too! Good Luck in creating something perfect!! How about some Dry like Lipton onion soup mix or vegetable soup mix!
