  • Plenty of times. I think it is a pretty normal response.

  • Plenty of times. Usually because the Holy Spirit is speaking to me.

  • I shed tears every Sunday when they pray for my husband's safe arrival from Afghanistan. It's so touching to know how many people love and care about him, and it makes me miss him even more.

  • Yeah, in fact I did just this last Saturday during mass - we sang my grandmother's favorite hymn - the prayer of st. francis (make me a channel of your peace) - I just held my little guy as I sat there. I have a lot of emotional connections to quite a few songs from people I've encountered over the years. I also have connections to different passages from the old and new testament that can get me teared up. I always cry during the Passion readings on Good Friday and Palm Sunday, and sometimes I have joyful tears as well. Mostly music gets me going - I don't think you should be embarrassed, if you can't emotionally express yourself before God, who can you express yourself before?? :)

  • Sometimes usually during emotional prayers.

  • I've never cried during church. And nothing annoys me more than an emotional Pastor. I know I'm hard hearted but I was taught that emotions should be private. My husband's family believed that you had to cry when you prayed because that meant you were really sincere. Rubbish. I don't cry when I pray and I'm still sincere.
