what can i do to make christmas special? ...more..

I told my son the truth about santa..because he asked...he seemed fine at the time but yesterday he said "Christmas won't be as special since santa wont be bringing the presents" my heart sank. What can i do to make Christmas just as fun and exciting for him?

  • Santa can still bring gifts - just make the fun "gag" like gifts. Hit the dollar section at Target and load the stocking. Then work on a special Christmas meal that your son helps make and plan.

  • Find a way where he can play santa..sign up for a home delivery where you sneak up and leave bags of gifts on the porch of less fortunate. Pick an angel off a tree and let him go nutz shopping for another child. Wrap his presents all put something really small in 5 different size boxes. Let him go on a scavenger hunt for his own presents.

  • ((HUGS)) have you got any relatives/friends around you who still believe in santa? I would ask him to help make it special for someone else, get him involved in all of the fun too. HTH xxx

  • Christmas is so much more than Santa. It's the spirit of giving and having family around that makes it much more exciting and special.

  • Tell him there will be plenty of surprises, and fun during the Holiday season, and x-mas day. Let him pick something out for a family member, like Dad, brother, sisters, whatever the case may be. Let him wrap it , give him the chance to see how it feels to give. Also maybe take him to give a gift to toys for tots, or at church, where some children wouldn't have anything if it weren't for generosity of others. In a sense it could teach him that he can play Santa, and make someones day a little brighter...

  • I agree with a previous post .. Have him play Santa. Go to the Salvation Army and get an Angel off of the Angel tree and have him pick out the gift for that child. He can also make/buy gifts for children at children's hospitals to make their day brighter. Having him play Santa will make his Christmas special again, plus he'll be helping out other kids.

  • make a tradition for just your family. if you are religious at all, you could explain the Christian meaning of it. if not, make up your own family tradition just for you guys.
