How long do you fast & for what reasons?
How do you do it (i know what fasting is, but how do you fight the urge to eat?)
How does it effect your mood? And how do you help control it?

If I go even 1/2 day without eating-- believe me, you DO NOT want to be around me! Its like Im PMSing, or first day of not smoking!
But Ive read there is alot of benefits to fasting ....

  • I have fasted food and liquids. It's not too bad after the first 3 days you get used to it. After a week it seems normal. Fasting is really good for your system.

  • Fasting can be good but not the answer for a crash diet! I've gone 3-4 on liquids alone and when you dont' intake carb or protien, you're body will store the fat. But if you're doing this for cleansing, then 24-72hrs is sufficient.

  • 2 days a year - ash wednesday and good friday - I still drink lots of water though
