how much is normal for a 1 month baby to drink?

my son is goint to be 1 month tomarrow, and usually i give him 4 oz. every 3-4 hours, but for the past week he has still been hungryafter i feed him, but i dont want to give him too much where he gets a stomch ache... how much should he be eating cuz now im scared i feed him too little..?

  • if he's still hungry, feed him more. 24-32oz total in 24 hours is average recommendation.

  • Next time, put 5 oz in the bottle and see if he finishes it and seems content but not hungry or too full. If so, then stick with it.

  • Don't forget you can always raise him a half an ounce at a time.

  • Your baby is developing physically and mentally, the feeding process will evolve. In general, babies move toward consuming more milk during each feeding, so won't need to feed as often and will sleep longer at night.But there will be times , in the first 3 months when a growth spurt increases your baby's appetite. Continue to feed on demand and increase the number of feedings as needed. A baby who is getting enough might slow down, stop, or turn away from the breast or bottle.

  • My daughter drank more than 4 ounces at 1 month. Let her drink what she wants. She won't over drink.
