Do I *have* to vote at my designated polling place?

Election day I will not be near my designated polling place- am I allowed to vote at another?

  • Yes and No. You have to vote at the designated polling place...unless you want to vote early. I suggest this if you won't be around on election day. Look up your local county board of elections to see where to go.

  • I dont think you will be able to vote at another polling place, but you can vote absentee.

  • Thanks. I'll just vote early then. My mother is having her hysterectomy that day (of all days!) and I need to be with her two counties away.

  • If you can not vote at your designated voting location you can either vote early (if your state allows it) or cast an absentee vote.
