Can you do cardio if you think you are pregnant but not sure yet? I heard no exercise in the 1st trimester? True?

  • The rule of thumb when pregnant is that if you have always done it then you can cont to do it, but don't over do it. However, if you haven't done it or it's not something you have been doing as a regular routine, after you get pregnant is NOT the time to start a new exercise routine. It's always good to exercise while pregnant it will help you through out the pregnancy and during labor but starting a new step class or cardio fitness is not ideal. Walking is GREAT and there is yoga for pregnant women, also in states like Florida where its still nice and hot swimming or at a gym with indoor pools swimming is also a great exercise. Just remember to stop before you are too tired because you're pregnancy, you have to be aware of how much your body can handle since you have to think of you and your baby now.

  • I've only heard that you shouldn't do anything extreme or anything more vigorous than what your body is currently accustomed to doing.

  • You should continue to do what you're used to doing!

  • as long as your body is used to that activity it is completely safe! just obviously dont push yourself ridiculously hard, but its perfectly fine, and actually really good for a pregnancy, to consider exercising
