Do your children who have female teachers refer to themselves as Mrs. or Ms. or Miss?

I was surprised when looking at my son's schedule that 3 out of his 4 female teachers refer to themselves as Mrs. The 4th is a Ms. Not too long ago, it seemed liked most females referred to themselves as Ms., whether married or not. I was actually pleasantly surprised to see 3 Mrs.!

  • When I was single I referred to myself as Miss and when I got married I changed to Mrs. - When I speak with parents, many use the Ms, because they are not sure (I teach high school so I'm dealing with 150 students); and it's difficult for me as a teacher when the last names don't match up whether to use Ms. or Mrs. with parents - so it's not easy from the teacher perspective as well.

  • All my kids' teachers have been Miss or Mrs. They've never had a Ms. My oldest is 33 & youngest 18. Do, in 33 yrs of raising kids, not one Ms.

  • My kids female teachers go by Madame - Mme, and the male teachers are Monsieur - Mr, they go to a french immersion school. I don't know what they'd go by in english. I work with a teacher who goes by Ms, she changed it to that after she got married but kept her maiden name. So she went from Miss ____ to Ms ____.

  • So far we've only had teachers that went by Ms. I don't know about this year, we get to know who their teachers are tomorrow.

  • In our school the only Ms. teacher has been divorced many times over and went back to her madien name, she says she's just done with men. Of the seven teachers in our small school, the rest of us are Mrs.
