When did it become illegal to beat your wife or anyone else you know?

LOL I seen it on a yahoo question, is it really hard to use common sense and know that its wrong to do? I guess that is why the prison are filling up

  • I do not know about a wife, but you should beat your DH every week or so for good measure.

  • In GA it wasn't illegal very long ago. They were slow in seeing it was a crime.

  • lmal 2boimommy. i agree with the others - this question is put in a confusing way. i think you're asking when exactly it became illegal to beat your wife, like when it became a law. i'm pretty sure it was in america that they had the rule of thumb, that you could beat your wife with a stick, but it couldn't be thicker than your thumb. enter women's lib, and we're smackin the hubs with a rolling pin. sounds fair to me, right 2boimommy!
