9 hour car trip?

Me and my husband our going to take our 4 month old on a 9 maybe 10 hour car ride from texas to colorado, to visit my father. ..any suggestions????

  • Start the trip after the baby eats. Then they will hopefully nap a good portion of the way. Also, Mom, you are going to be stuck in the back seat for a while, get used to it. At that age, you might need to make frequent stops as babies that small like to be held, but on another note, the naps are liable to last a lot longer too!!
    Peek-a-boo, and picture books and bubbles might help along the way too.

  • It may be a lonnger trip than you imagine - take frequent stops! Remember to change often, to not get a diaper rash...

    Hopefully you have one of those babies who like to sleep in the car!

  • We drove 6 hours from VA to NY when she was 3 months old. Try to start your trip early or late in the day, depending on when baby sleeps most. keep toys at hand, be prepared to stop. Our trip went really well both ways. Good Luck!!
