  • Around here children get their classroom assignments until 2 days before school. They aren't even mailed. The parent has to go to the school building and read what is posted on the school doors. They are posted the afternoon 2 days before school and remain on the doors until after the first day. Bus assignments arrive in the mail the day before school.

  • I would call them and tell them you need this information NOW. This is the last week you have to prepare. I knew the hours, days, etc that my daughter would be going to school MONTHS in advance when they sent out a welcome/orientation packet. Then we did the orientation a week before school.
Maybe call and ask when orientation is so that you can know everything you will need to know for your child? That way it doesn't seem as if you are harassing them, but it is a gentle reminder that you need info ASAP.

    Good Luck!

  • Hon,if your area is like mine here in WI,she'll be am. You should be getting the bus schedule time any day now. We have Kobussen here and we get the pick up time sheet a few days before the 1st day.

  • honestly, given what you have posted before about them "losing" the IEP and whatnot, I'd be looking at contacting the superintedent of the district and getting a special ed advocate on board with you

  • I would want to be furious. But why waste the energy. If you are really frustrated just keep a journal of calls, and what they tell you, check off a list of questions.
    1. When is the first day?
    2. When is pickup hour, and is it a.m or p.m. ?
    3. Why is this taking so long?
    4. Is the IEP going to be on time/ and schedueled.
    5. Are their IEP cubacks? and will I be on a waiting list for this?

After each Question you have confronted, ......scratch in their best replys, and put >>>>>
Put ........Details , .....Dates,..........Who was talking to you.,,,,,
and .........................if nobody gives you a straight answer call the IEP management directly : )

Hope this helps, keep up the good work (Your kids are #1 )
