How can i get my 2 1/2 year old not scared of her room?

We just recently had another lil girl on the 1st and our oldest (turns 3 in Aug every time we put her in bed she is fine until we are ready to walk out the door. She screams about how there are monsters, snakes, spiders, etc in her room. She has never done this...i am thinking it is because of her baby sister is sleeping in our room and she is not...how can i make her so she is not scared?

  • My son is the same age and is afraid of bugs with big teeth in his room. we go on a "bug hunt" every night in his room to make sure it is safe. we also made posters and signs with pictures of what he is afraid of and put X's throught them to show they are not allowed. Another thing is that we moved his bed so that he can see the whole floor the way we had it, he couldn't now he can and has a nightlight to light up the floor as well. Good luck:)

  • try getting her a night light if you don't have one already. if you do, do a preemtive strike on those spiders snakes and monsters. Get her a little butterfly net (yourself one too) and go through the room catching them and throw them outside :D it'll be a special time for you and her and will hopefully get her to not be so scared. For any more tips feel free to message me :D

  • You could try "monster spray". Add a few drops of lavender oil to a spray bottle filled with water and spray it about the room to scare off all the monsters :) She is most likely feeling left out due to the new baby.. Congrats on your second!
