Looking for a place to buy good sturdy plus size nursing bras

I'm looking for a place to buy a good nursing bra. I bought one at Motherhood Maternity half way through my pregnancy when I went up 2 cup sizes and width, but I'm certain I've gone up at least another size and my milk hasn't even came in yet. I wasn't a small chested woman to begin with, and so the bra I currently wear is the biggest they sell at motherhood maternity as far as cup size, but I can't seem to find another place that sells them in my size with underwires. (42G or H I'm guessing) Any ideas?

  • I'm Sorry. It is hard to find! I recall shopping with my oldest DD for the younger DD. To find her a nursing Bra! I can't believe how hard it was! How sad it is many places don't sell them. What we did see were ugly. I felt bad! So I'm not of much help! I'm giving you hugs of my Care and understanding!! We also looked at The Playtex store! Maybe there? Good luck with everything!

  • and consider at least one without an underwire--especially in those early nursing days underwires can cause pressure on breast tissue that can be less than ideal. Often our breast tissue doesn't sit only where the wire is, it goes a bit wider around and into our pits, I agree they are not nearly as attractive, but mastitus etc is not so fun either.

  • I'm a 38G (4 years after giving birth, 3+ yrs after stopping Bfing) - our hospital had a women's center with a professional bra fitter. If you have Nordstrom where you are they have very good fitter, but soooo expensive, Lane Bryant fitters are good too to give you an idea of the right size and then at least you have a starting point. Try www.justmysize.com - I've had good luck with 'Anita' nursing bras in a similar size range. In our area we also have 'Leggs Hanes Bali' Outlet stores, if there are outlet malls near you do a search and see if they're included. Or call your local La Leche League and ask. Good luck!
