Should I leave the fruit out?

My MIL has given me a few boxes of pears & apples, some of which are very ripe, the rest are hard but green. Should I leave the greens out, see if they ripen well? My other option is to boil them or cook them down into apple-pear sauce.

  • Use up the very ripe ones and leave the others out.

  • They should be fine for a while. Just don't leave them in the sun light.

  • Yes, they should keep for awhile.

  • Apples will ripen fine in the open. Pears do better if you wrap them in vented paper (or stick the in a brown paper bag with a few holes poked in it).
