  • You know, i use it all the time as an adjective. If something seems of lower quality, sometimes i'll call it ghetto. As in "that resaurant was really ghetto". I wondered the other day if it's offensive to anyone. So, i looked up the definition & i got a few different ones. Some said it's just an area where poor people live. Wiki says this;

    "Ghetto was originally used in Venice to describe the area where Jews were compelled to live. A ghetto is now described as an overcrowded urban area often associated with a specific ethnic or racial population"

    I use it all the time, i don't mean to offend.

  • It doesn't offend me, as some of the others have said, I use it as an adjective. All it implies to me is run-down and dirty, there is no reason for it to offend me.

  • It doesn't offend me. In my area, people see it as a bad place to live in, with drug dealing and what all.

  • No, but I'm not from there. It might offend me if that was where my family lived.
