Best books for home birth preparation?

What were the most helpful books you found on home births? Not even pregnant yet with my 3rd, but starting the research early ;-)

  • There aren't really any that don't read like a feminist manifesto.

    Ina May's is really what is out there.

    See if there is a home birth meet up group in your area. That was an amazing resource for me and DH.

  • I second Ina May's also Birthing From Within by Pam England and Rob Horowitz.

    Spiritual Midwifery is good but it's more intervention promoting than I'd like.

    The Holistic Midwifery textbooks are awesome, but they are text books. I don't know how in depth you want to go, these are very detailed. If you're planning an unassisted I'd get these but if you're having a midwife it's not necessary.
