  • we like www.starfall.com

but it's not about that kinda stuff.... you're better off going to target and buying a PreK workbook and some flash cards and then a library card if u don't have one. READ, lots. To be ready for kinder. it's more about social skills than book smarts. Fully potty trained, listens, shares, etc. Bonus points: write 1st name and recite address

  • Starfall is great, we use it for our computer time a lot with my class. I use theme teaching with my prekinders, it makes learning fun. Here are some great prek theme sites...

  • early childhood education and a good preschool are going to be working on social skills, problem solving with peers, learning to see another adult as a teacher, separating and autonomy, feeling safe learning and playing away from family of origin.

For K kids need to be able to sit close to another child and not bug them (hand to themselves), manage their emotions, have good fine motor control and pencil skills, have expressive language, able to "do the rules", and helps if they know their shapes, colors, start on the 26 letters, counting by pointing to each item, oddly coin knowledge (my kid could swipe by 2..but swiping skills don't count).

Can they hold a book the right way, turn the pages, guess the story by clues in the text and pictures, some easy sight words.
