picky 6 month old lol

i tried to start my baby on rice first, then tried variety's of banana's, then variety's of apples, tried pineapple, peach cobbler, sweet potatoes, sweet potatoes & corn, pears, yogurts, macoroni & cheese, fruit medley, macoroni beef & the only thing she likes is mash potato, sweet corn, and mixed fruit with yogurt & fiber....
my other kids would eat anything pretty much....i know she wants solids too cause she reaches for food, cries for food, opens her mouth & can even feed herself!

  • Nope. Never had a picky eater. They ate what we ate. I didn't play into the picky eater game at all. If they're hungry, they'll eat. Mine never went hungry. If they turned away dinner at dinner time, they got it back when they decided they were hungry.

  • Most women on here will tell you not to feed your child anything but formula or breastmilk tell age 1. Just keep feeding her she will eat more sooner or later.

  • No Louise, we say 6 months. Geeze.

Mine wouldn't eat spinach at 6 months. He also wouldn't eat jar food. So, I made all his food. He loved it. He was and is still picky. But., he eats it anyway.

  • she may just want to participate not necessarily eat. That's okay. An empty spoon may be more than satisfying. Babies also like to self feed because they enjoy discovering tastes and texture. Check out babyled solids

  • Both my boys have been pretty picky, my daughter was a great eater. My younger son is 7 months old, I've been giving him baby food for almost 2 months, he's still hardly eating it, he spits everything out. He does like getting fruit in his mesh baby feeder and he liked pears, but even with the pears he only ate about 1/3 of the jar and was done with it. With the mesh feeder he just sucks some of the juice out. I'm not worried about it for now, I just keep offering it once a day most days.

  • You are giving you baby tons of allergy trigger foods (wheat, dairy, who knows what) that babies should not have until their first birthday. Please take some time to educate yourself on nutrition:

  • All four of my kids ate all that kind of stuff BEFORE they were 1 year old! They NEVER developed any type of food allergy. They are all grown now & still have NO ALLERGIES.
