  • I watched his cues and he set his schedule. He ate every 4 hours, slept for a bit around 12 and again in the afternoon. Had tummy time/playtime and bed when i went.

  • It has worked best for all 3 of my kids to follow baby's lead. They eat when they are hungry, sleep when they are tired. They would usually fall into a loose schedule at around 6 months old where they would have a morning nap and an afternoon nap.

  • I take DD to work with me and I have a bizarre schedule. She just does whatever. She sleeps in the car from place to place. She sleeps in her moby wrap during meetings. I nurse on demand. I wear her almost all day and night.

My overbearing mother keeps saying she needs a schedule, but she is such a happy baby, I'm not going to force anything on her. If she started to show signs of needing to be home more and out less, we'd come up with something.

  • my son usually wakes up around 9 in the morning. he eats his breakfast. which is usually toast or a bottle. he gets his bath after he eats. then he watches his favorite cartoons for a little while. he gets playtime between 11 in the morning til nap time at 3. he doesn't have an eating schedule. he lets me know when he's hungry. he takes his nap at 3 wakes up at 4. then he plays, eats, and has face to face time with me until 8 or 9. he gets his evening bath and goes to bed. his schedule isn't solid. some days he takes one bath. some days he takes four. he's a messy baby when he eats. sometimes he takes his nap earlier sometimes he doesn't take his nap. i try to get the same schedule everyday. but most of the time i listen to his cues to tell me what he needs or wants.

10 am - noon (give or take) Nap
2 pm milk and a snack
    3pm - 4:30ish Nap
    5:30 Dinner
    7:00 Milk and a Snack

  • Only schedule I had was to wake up at 5, nurse, shower, dress, drop off at grandma's, go to work. The rest was very laissez-faire; I got home typically around 6:30, and then the evening would depend on how soon he was ready to drop off. We used routines but weren't under the tyranny of the clock. We didn't get into real scheduling until school started.
