What is there to know about pre-eclampsia?

concerned been diagnosed with a mild case of pre-eclampsia any one have any info about pre eclampsia and what does it mean for my baby?

  • I had this with my second pregnancy. You will monitored more often and your blood pressure will be checked a lot more. your diet needs to be adjusted for low salt. Your OB may also suggest no added sugar or caffeine. If your BP goes up too much you may be but on restricted duty or bedrest. Also, high blood pressure meds may need to be started. High blood pressure can be very dangerous for you and the baby. Stroke is the major risk with severe Pre-eclampsia also known as Toxemia.

  • Seriously, eating cucumber and water melon will help bring down your blood pressure.

    You want to get a handle on this to avoid preterm labor, induction, or a c section.
