What do your LOs eat for lunch?

my dh comes home for lunch every day (works about 3mins away) and its getting harder and more annoying to find something to make for lunch that we'll ALL eat. my 3yo gets lunch at school Mon-Thur but she's done by 11:30 and dh usually does lunch at 1pm so she eats again with us :P but getting her to actually eat something other then a HotPocket or some chips or something is driving me crazy! and my 17mo usually eats pretty good but lately all he wants to eat is chips or goldfish too! today we went to the Deli and got them some chicken strips that they are actually eating pretty good but most of the time i feel like they don't eat hardly anything for lunch :-/

  • This is what my 3 year old eats: 9:00 am he gets, melted cheese on a sesame roll, Juice, milk, a fruit (fruit cup, bluberries, strawberries). If he doesn't eat his roll, He gets a waffle. Snack at 11:00, he eats a banana & 2 spoons of Peanut butter or dry cheerios. Lunch at 1:00, he eats hard boiled eggs & side salad or scrambled eggs with mushrooms, Buttered toast, cherrie tomatos or olives. If he is still hungry I will give him sliced cheese & Salami or chicken breast. That's the average but I switch it up a lot. Then at dinner he will get a meat, starch & veggie or pasta & veggies. I try to limit the chips and bad stuff because then he will not eat healthy. So I rarely give him candy or salty snacks. He usually only gets a marshmallow or whipped cream in a cup as far as sweets go except cupcakes when Nana comes over :)

  • Oddly enough, they both like the school lunches. My younger son actually drooled reading the calendar for the year (yeah, they plan our cafeteria a year in advance and send it home the first week of school). He can't wait till December (his birth month) because every day that month is his "favorite" dishes. In fact, on his birthday is his all-time fave - turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy and stuffing!

  • My three year old's favorite lunch: wheat crackers, sliced turkey, carrot sticks, cucumber slices, grape tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and red grapes.

  • My lunch my son eats beans & rice, tuna salad, leftovers, veggie pasta, a stuffed pepper, BEC (bacon, egg, cheese) bagel, or soup and crackers. He just turned 2. Maybe your little one isn't very hungry since they also eat at school. You could try some cut up veggies with dressing for dipping or or ants on a log.
