  • I don't think 38/39 is too old to get pregnant....maybe because I am pushing that age myself ;)
I think the older you are the higher the risk of having a downs syndrome baby. I know after 35, they do a lot more testing when you are pregnant......or atleast at my OB they do.
Women are having babies everyday at that age and a lot older.
Good luck and I wish you the best!

  • The main concern you face as you age is that your risk of conceiving a baby with a chromosomal problem goes up every year. For example, the risk of having a baby with Down syndrome rises from about 1 in 759 at age 30 to 1 in 302 at age 35, 1 in 82 at age 40. Statistically there is a greater risk. However there are risks in pregnancy no matter who you are.

  • You're not old. If you want another baby then go for it.

  • You're not too old.  My mom had my youngest sister when she was around 41.
