How disgusting can they get? This guy should have already been tried, convicted and put to death. Thoughts?

  • This went into effect within weeks of Obama coming into office.

  • In a filing this week in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, the Justice Department said that "no charges are either pending or contemplated with respect to al-Nashiri in the near future."

They did put it off back then but this has been up in the air for that long. This is a new filing to permanently blow it off.

  • I'd sure like to see that filing. The rest of the article implies that the prosecution is not OFF, only delayed, and al-Nashiri isn't going anywhere.

  • DoD says it's still working on new charges. But I agree, we should've tried him YEARS ago. We've had him since 2002, so why didn't he get tried back then?

  • Amazing. Absolutely amazing. I'm so sick of terrorists...period. So our message to those who attack us is? If you attack a US warship we give you free room and board indefinitely. Real tough guys aren't we? He sat untouched for 8 years under Bush and now 2 years under Obama.

  • We should have been keel hauling him since 2002 ~ at least if he was scraping barnacles off it would have justified feeding him all this time.

Answer by Farmlady09 at 5:40 PM on Aug. 27, 2010

  • Well if he has been imprisoned since 2002, why didn't the Bush administration try and convict him?????
