  • No birth control method is 100% effective and only Natural family planning is 100% safe but not 100% effective. Everything else has side effects. Everything hormonal is bad for you. The copper IUD is not hormonal but has nasty side effects like heavy bleeding, very painful cramps. The condoms are OK if you get the unlubricated ones. The lubricated ones have nasty chemicals in them which it hasn't been said publicly, but some of them I am convinced cause cancer in the long run.

  • I would say if u don't want anything permanant that the best thing I ever had was the Mirena and its just like an IUD but its not copper which is wonderful.

  • I had blood clots in both my lungs while on the pill. One clot can kill you in an hour. Any hormonal birth control method can have blood clots. There are side effects with any birth control method.

  • there are so many side effects and risks to the different birth controls that my husband and I opted for the rhythm method and the pull out method. I know it's not the most effective, but pregnancy is always a risk when having sex. When we're done with having kids my husband will have a vasectomy

  • No sex 100% effective ;0)

WE used a combination of spermicidal strips and condoms during the 'most fertile' times if the month for 2.5 years with no issues between kids. Now my tubes are tied.
