  • "tempers", as we label them in kids, are just their natural way of freaking out when they don't know how to deal. that's what toddlers and kids do, they don't know better. we do, however. your focus should be on teaching your child ways to deal with their emotions, which will take time. get down to their level, and speak to them calmly. nope, it won't always work, but it shows them that you are a gentle, caring individual who is there for them and understand their frustration.

a real temper develops when no one teaches that child better, and just says "yeah, she's got a temper like her dad", just ignore it.

  • I have almost 4 year old twins and an 18 month old and there are days when all 3 are throwing tantrums at the same time. I just step around them and leave the room!
