Are strangers able to copy and paste our pics from this site?

This morning on the AMC morning tv show talked about how people's pics can be taken from public sites when you post them and used elsewhere. Do you know if we are protected here??? ther are some lawsuites from people that it happened to.

  • It is very easy to steal a picture. That goes for anywhere on the internet.

  • Unless you're on private, ANYTHING YOU TYPE OR UPLOAD ON THE INTERNET can be copied and used against you anywhere on the internet or offline.

And in some instances, even if you're on private, hackers have ways of getting around that. Just sayin =]

  • Very, very easy to steal a photo. Even when there are settings on the site to prevent it. Most settings prevent someone from right-clicking on the photo and saving it. But remember, in order for your computer to display the image on the screen, it had to download a copy of the photo. Some sites clean out those files when the person leaves the site, some don't. There are also "snipping" tools... these let you draw a box around anything on your screen and make a copy of it. Windows Vista includes one version of this and there have been others on the market for years.
The thing to remember... never, never, NEVER post a photo online that you don't want 10,000 strangers looking at and never, never, NEVER post a photo online that you think would attract a child predator (baby sitting in bathtub, child sitting on potty, naked toddler running through house, etc)

  • If the picture can be seen, it can be copied. CTRL + Print Screen will take a "snapshot" of anything on the screen and then can be pasted and edited through a variety of applications. If you are concerned about someone using your photo, don't post it ANYWHERE on the internet.

  • EVERYTHING on this site is viewable by anyone. Not your private profile though. But if you answer or ask a question here it is viewable by the whole world. Thought bubbles too.

Google your screen name...see if you see for yourself.
