Is your SO your equal?

I'm in the processs of divorcing and what I've come to the conclusion is that I need someone whos my equal or counterpart in many areas of life....I'm not really sure if this is realistic (I'm a very unique person) but do you feel you have found this? or do you feel like your relationship works regardless?
