  • I stopped a few weeks before 2nd birthday. That's good for me. Do you knowhow many bites I have endured.

  • I'm nursing my 2 year old and wondering at what age I would feel uncomfortable. I'm not sure, because when he was a baby I thought 2 would feel uncomfortable, but we're doing it and it's not. Right now, I think 4 would be uncomfortable. I've never worked up to it though so I don't know how I'd feel. I'm hoping he just self-weans before that and I don't have to figure it out!

  • well the question wasn't really about antibodies or how long its necessary now was it anon? I nursed my twins until 13 months and then between nursing 2 babies I wasn't getting anything else done so we had to wean. baby #3 nursed for 14 months but was having issues with weight gain because of a medication I was having to take so we weaned- but neither of us wanted to! I wanted to get to at least 18 months with her and she definitely didn't want to wean! I have always thought 18 months or 2 years would be my limit, but since I've never made it that far I don't know what I would feel is too old to nurse.

  • i envy mothers that get to go further than I did - my son had reflux/allergies so bad he unlatched up to 50 times per feeding and I had a lactation nurse and was really only producting enough milk for 1/2 a feeding and never gettng that let down or full feeling in my breasts... I cried for days when I had to stop
