  • Because his 'offense' was so great they wanted to make an example out of him. To be crucified is far more harsh than to be stoned. Hope this helped.

  • It was the Romans who sentenced him, and crucifixion was their worst death. They were making an example of him.

  • There was rock shortage at the time. The were on rations. Only so many stonings a month. ;)

  • Because the Caesar at that time was a sick man..... (not that I believe it happened... but, ya, this man got some sort of perverse pleasure in watching or hearing about any crucifixtion)

  • Zoey, I love it, lol.

But yeah, what everyone else said. It was what Romans did at that time.

  • Because he was tried under Roman law, and not under Jewish authority. And that just happens to be how the Romans did it.

  • In addition to what bandgeek said, the fact that Jesus died on a cross, which is a very big pagan symbol, and then defeated that death and rose again, shows His power over other gods and religions. He was crucified on a symbol of Satan, Satan probably thought maybe he had won, but Jesus rose again and defeated that death! Hallelujah!

  • The Jews screamed him to be crucified. Luke 23:21 I believe it is prophecy, no? Yes?

  • It was the death penalty for those days and the Jews were for the crucifixion. Plus they wanted crucify him with two more common thief as if he was not more special.

  • The Jews asked for him to be crucified, it was also prophesied that He would be. It was how the Romans killed their prisoners. He wasnt the only one crucified that day. So were two others.
