Changing cycles are normal as you progress through different phases of your fertile life. There are lots of things that can affect your cycle. How old are you? Your cycle changes as you age (especially mid-30's on). Weight is also important- add or lose ten pounds & it will change your body's response to estrogen. Medications affect it, too. What I recommend is using a book, the Ovulation Method by Dr. Evelyn Billings, to learn to identify what is going on cycle-wise in your body. It teaches how to pinpoint ovulation, which then can be used to predict the next menstruation. Too short between ovulation & menstruation or spotting indicates low progesterone; lack of fertile discharge can indicate low estrogen or that you are not ovulating at all, even though you are having periods. If that's the case, you can see a doctor for help.
