Why do people think that...

it is ok to go into a restaurant and DEMAND a discount on their food for no other reason then they are cheap?? I had a man call last night to place an order and he asked what kind of deal he could get, I told him the special and he said no that's not what he wanted, he started being really rude and pushy. so I asked him what he did want and told him it would be about 45$, he said he wanted it for 35$... I told him no! I'm sorry do not call me being rude and pushy trying to get a discount, its not gonna happen! Yea, we are a pizza/sandwhich place, but we are expensive, it's about 10$ a person. he came in to get his food just throwing a huge fit because he had to pay full price for his food. Then pulls out a wad of like 200$ in cash to pay for his food. He was rude the whole time, cussing us out. I guess it's just such a burden to go to a place and actually have to pay for your food!!

  • i don't know.
I was at Dollar tree on Friday and this guy was having a shit fit that the cashier wouldn't leave her post, leave everyone standing there, and go to the office to get him a phone book so he could call a tow truck. Umm,hello, ever heard of 411 on your cell phone in your hand? He wanted the cashier to be fired for it!

  • The other night at work, I had a table treat me like total crap. They asked for a frozen drink without a lot of ice in it. (think slushy, no ice)

I said we'd do the best we could, and the bartender tried.
the guest handed it back to me and said "it's cold, take it back and scoop the ice out of it, NOW!" So I did.

A frozen drink was cold, huh?

six dollars on seventy. Even after they were so rude, demanding, and needy, I had to turn down two other tables that probably would have tipped me like normal people.

People suck some days. Rant over. I usually don't complain.

  • Some places give a break for repeat customers, specials, etc. But he would have known the tab before he showed up. If he wasn't happy with how much it cost he shouldn't have ordered in the first place.

  • I don't see anything wrong with asking for a discount, but he was just rude about it.

  • It's one thing to ask for a discount when ordering a lot of food but not to demand it. And if it's usually $10 per person and his total was $45, then he didn't order that much. Asking can never hurt, but demanding it is rude. Sorry you had such an ass :-(
