Have your dh be faithful to you because he loves you or because he's afraid of going to hell?

I know my dh is faithful for both reasons, but if I absolutely had to choose, I don't know which one I would pick lol. Just curious to see what others would choose.

  • Because he loves me. We don't believe in Hell, but if we did, I'd rather him be with me because he's happy and loves me rather than be afraid of something.

  • Well, I don't believe in Hell, and I highly doubt that has anything to do with his reasoning... So, because he loves me. But really, I want him to be faithful (live within the rules of our relationship) because he's happy that way.

  • Love. If he was only faithful for fear of going to Hell (which imo is fictional) then we shouldn't be married and he should find someone who he does love enough to want to be faithful to.

  • Because he loves me and our children, and it was how he was raised. Even though we were both raised strict Roman Catholic and were married in the Catholic Church, we are not active members, however, we live by the morals and values of Catholic teachings, and honor our marriage vows.
