Way back when games...need help with the names :)

So, as a child, I remember playing two games and for the life of me, cannot remember the names.

The first was some sort of science game where you had to find the mad scientist in a (possibly) haunted mansion/laboratory.

The second was (possibly) pirates that instead of fighting, you hurled insults at each other to best them.

Anyone have any idea? I do not think the second one is Monkey Island.

Thanks for the help!!

  • Definitely not clue. I remember the scientist was locked away in a room and when you found him, he would go all crazy in a funny way. It was on the computer, so you had to go through different doors?
